Here you come to ... HISTORY & HERITAGE Nice tours possible to discover numerous nice excursions possibles to discover heritage and the Cevennes resources: exhibitions, visits of craft workshops, la Bambouseraie and the pottery of Anduze, the Romanesque church of the XIIth century, and the castle St Pierre near St Germain de Calberte, the museum of the Cevennes Valleys (musée des Vallées Cévenoles) in St Jean du Gard… On the spot at the reception, documentation and advice to compose visits and discoveries. SITE & ENVIRONNEMENT Region rich of natural sites, like the grottos of Trabuc and "l'Aven Armand" or the Gorges de la Jonte and Gorges du Tarn. The Cevennes National Park proposes it's Nature Festival: diverse accompanied activities: walks, conferences and performances proposed during all year. This holiday resort in the middle of forest at 720 m altitude offers a un magnificent Cevennes panoramic view. The cute little village of St Germain is at about 4 km environ : baker, butcher, 2 grocers, postoffice, moneydispenser. You can go there by a little foodpath in about 30 minutes. In Summer there is a little market with local produce : meats, pelardons(goatcheese), honey, sweet chestnuts, olive oil. Numerous local festivals : "fête du savoir-faire" in August, fête de la châtaigne in October…and all kind of music concerts nearby to choose.. SPORTIVE LEISURE Numerous hiking tracks in the Cevennes National Park: GR70- the Stevenson track, GR67 "le tour des Cévennes". On the spot sportifve equipments , swimmingpoolpiscine, pétanque (bowls), ping-pong, tennis and preferential tariffs for numerous exterior activities. Accompanied hikes and mountainbike (VTT) circuits. At the upperside of Serre de la Can, walks with poneys and horseriding in nature to offer your family. Access • Access by train : Nîmes, Alès then public transport (car till St Jean du Gard, once a day to St Etienne Vallée Française) • Access by car Off Paris : highway direction Clermont Ferrand then A75. Exit Marvejols and the take the N106 in direction Florac. 20 km after Florac (Col de Jalcreste) take the D984 direction St Germain de Calberte. At the square near the church, turn to the right, following the signs "Serre de la Can" Off Montpellier : highway A9, exit Lunel (sortie 27) and take the N113 direction Sommières, then Anduze and St Jean du Gard. At the stoplight arriving in St Jean du Gard take to the right the D984 direction St-Etienne-Vallée-Française "straight" arriving in St Germain de Calberte. Cross the village and take to the left after the church following the signs "Serre de la Can". Off Nîmes : RN 106 direction Alès, exit Anduze/Pont de Ners: crossing Anduze direction St Jean du Gard. At the stoplight arriving in St Jean du Gard take to the right the D984 direction St-Etienne-Vallée-Française "straight" arriving in St Germain de Calberte. Cross the village and take to the left after the church following the signs "Serre de la Can". Off Lyon : highway A7, exit Bollène, direction Alès, in Alès direction Mende, in La Salle de Gardon leave the N 106 to the left, direction Branoux/Col de la Baraque. Au Col de la Baraque prendre direction St Germain de Calberte. Cross the village and take to the left after the church following the signs "Serre de la Can". Arriving at Lou Serre de la Can, take after the tennis courts the little road going up to the left :  Lou Serre de La Can is situated : 1 hour drive off Alès, and Florac, 2 hours off Montpellier and Mende. |
